    Description

    Vietnam Knife / Dagger

    Stunning Vietnam Knife / Dagger! This piece belonged to a decorated Vietnam and Korean War veteran - The blade was made using a military Jeep spring, the crossguard is a made of an artillery shell, and the handle made of native wood in Vietnam.
    This piece is in excellent condition - blade measures 7" in length and 2.5" in diameter (at widest point) the overall length of the knife is 12 inches.  Fantastic piece of military history - please email me with any questions as I am still in contact with original owner.
    **NOTE FROM ORIGINAL OWNER:
    The knives were made by hand in 1965 by skilled South Vietnamese in the 7 Mountain Region of that country. We (US Army Special Forces) needed special knives fighting the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese, so we designed knives similar to the excellent, but very expensive Randall knives. The Vietnamese craftsmen made the blades from destroyed military jeep springs and the hilt guard from expended ammo shells. The wooden handle was from local wood. They actually made the blades sitting around a fire holding the spring with their feet while scraping with a piece of steel.
