    NEW MADRID RECOLLECTION PATTERN -
    BLUE
CREAMER Only by Indiana Glass Company
We are pleased to offer for your consideration this glass creamer from the New "Madrid" Recollection pattern made by the Indiana Glass Company. The glass creamer has a beautiful pressed scroll designed on both of its sides and a garland of diamond patterns on the front and back. There is a raised 'foot' beneath. The blue is one of the prettiest we have ever seen. The Madrid pattern was originally made from 1932 to 1939 and was reintroduced by the Federal Glass Company in 1976 for the Bicentennial under the name ‘
    Recollection
’. Pieces made by the Federal Glass Company were embossed with a ’76 near the lower portion of the pieces. When Federal Glass Company closed their doors due to bankruptcy in early 1980, Indiana Glass Company bought their molds and continued to reproduce this beautiful pattern, only
    without
the embossed ’76. This was helpful, but still confusing to unknowing collectors. However, in terms of the creamer, the spout is raised above the top rim, whereas the older pieces from 1932-39 were at the same level as the top rim. Therefore, collectors are able to tell the difference between the old and the new creamers. Our creamer example is from Indiana Glass Company from the 1980’s. Since we do not have the sugar bowl, we are hoping you are looking for just the creamer!
