French France MAS Bayonet Type 2 -MAT F- 1958 w/Scabbard
French France MAS Bayonet Type 2 -MAT F- 1958 w/Scabbard. A later version of the MAS 49/56 for the French rifle of that period. This one has the 2.75" false edge on the blade so that makes it the later 1958 model. Blade has lots of wear to the finish along the cutting edge and tip. Blade has original configuration edge& point total length 7.75". MAT F is marked under cross guard. Grips are nice & undamaged. Catch levers work nicely. Scabbard leather is supple with some green corrosion around brass rivets. Keeper strap and attachment pin work fine. Metal parts of scabbard have no dents but show handling scuffs. Backside of scabbard throat marked 'MAS 69'. This may not have been ever issued; nice example of period piece. Study photos closely- always- they describe best. . postage.
