The affixed carabiner makes it quick and easy to connect to your accessories and will never get lost. The fang is part of patented Passive Embedment Ground System. PEGS are metal fangs pins that penetrate, flexes and grip stronger than standard stakes. So t is no need to hammer these stakes down at an angle like all the other stakes, hammer these stakes straight into the ground. Fangs are used for extra gripping strength and especially useful in high winds and rainy conditions to stabilize the ground stake in different soil types. The fangs are easy to remove if extra gripping strength is not needed. Just bend the fang pin straight and slide the fang pin out of the slots. To replace, slide the fang pin into the slots, bend the fang pin towards the ground, that's it. The cap, made of malleable iron with a water release system to release stubborn stakes. Just poor water all the way to the top of the stake through the hole of the cap, tap the stake with a hammer in all directions, wiggle the stake back and forth, side to side, up and down then pull the stakes out with ease.
