Description
This is an antique Chinese red lacquered small chair from the late Qing Dynasty (c. 1890). It is made of 26 solid pieces of ChineseYumu
elm wood. The red lacquer finish appears to be original with the patina of a century plus. The chair sits squarely on the floor and all mortis and tenon joint are solid. The center back has three carvings as well as the trim under the seat.
This chair has been used lovingly over since it was made well over 100 years ago, it remains in
fine antique condition
and should serve one well for another century of use.
Please note the small panel on the lower back that is missing a portion. The chair measures 32" tall by 16 1/2" wide by 13 1/2" deep (81 x 42 x 34 cm). The seat is 15" from the floor. A great piece of Chinese history and an interesting and
very solid and functional
piece of furniture.
