Antique Chinese Kung Fu Bench

Description

This slim, red lacquered Kung Fu bench features the traditional splayed legs linked by straight, double stretchers, and carved spandrels. Displaying an open-grained texture, the wood peeks out from behind a dark lacquer finish, lending the bench a fantastic patina. One leg appears to have been repaired at some point, but remains structurally sound, as it has served to support my 200 lb frame for the past 7 years. The bench is priced to reflect the repair as similar pieces can command significantly higher prices.
