I am still currently still doing research on this amazing antique Chinese hand carved Cheshire Cat dark hardwood chair.
I have learned from multiple sources that this is possibly early to middle Ming era. I was informed by multiple sources that the casters were possibly added later as well as the fabric may have been recovered later. I have also had information leading to India from the same era. I am selling as is not knowing much about the history but as I do research I will update the opinions I am receiving.
You buy as is, this is antique and not new. This was made from multiple pieces so there is a few that are disconnect but not broken. As with all antiques there will be normal wear such as nicks, scrapes, scratches, runs, patina, etc on wood, metal and fabric. I will let you re-glue the pieces back on, it is structurally sound.
If you purchase and you feel or find out information based off of my research and research opinions were different than I listed, I still will not accept a return. You could be buying a much higher end more expensive chair as well. I will do my best to update as I receive information.
