    Vintage Publicity Photo
    Youngsters Drinking Coconut Milk
    at Waikiki Beach
    ~ circa 1930s ~
This photo is from the collection of a man who lived on O'ahu for many decades. He was a writer for both the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. He was on the island on Dec 7th, 1941 when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Please look for my other current listings of photographs and ephemera from Waikiki Beach, Honolulu and other locales.
Titled "Hawaii's Favorite Drink", this 8 x 10 photograph shows local boys drinking coconut milk straight from the shell. Photo taken by the "Pan Pacific Press".
I couldn't find out much history on the PPP
...but references for the agency date back to at least the 1910s. I also found many photos credited to them from the 1920s and 1930s. This one looks to date from the 1930s.
    Photo Measures 8 x 10 Inches.
In Good to Very Good Condition: Light Wear & Creasing.
Please see photos for further details
