    Vintage Publicity Photo
Royal Hawaiian Hotel & Outrigger Canoe Club
    Waikiki Beach
    ~ early 1930s ~
This photo is from the collection of a man who lived on O'ahu for many decades. He was a writer for both the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. He was on the island on Dec 7th, 1941 when Pearl Harbor was attacked. Please look for my other current listings of photographs and ephemera from Waikiki Beach, Honolulu and other locales.
This great image taken in the early to mid 1930s offers a rare view of the Outrigger Canoe Club from above. Believe this photo comes from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin as there's penciling on the back referring to reproducing it in their 'Fleet Edition'. There are some gouache (opaque watercolor) touch-ups and highlights added to the photo to make it pop in newspaper print (I know a trick for removing those if you want to write me). They are basically done to a few places on the roof of the Royal Hawaiian and to accentuate the palm trees.
    Photo Measures 8 x 10 Inches.
In Good to Very Good Condition:
General Wear. Gouache Highlights / Touch-Ups.
