    Description

    11 HAND PAINTED PERSIAN BIRD FLORAL SCALLOPED PLATES MINA STYLE - 5 3/8".
    These charming plates can be used for canapés, deserts, candies - whenever you want to look elegant. We've had them about 40 years and don't know where they were before that ... but they are old. The bottoms of all have a hand-drawn square w a dome on top of it - sort of a very simple shield or beehive - or a representation on the Persian ability to build domes on square building. There is also a stamped imprint - more prominent on some plates than others - but I can't figure out what it is. The edges are scalloped, gold trimmed and with a peak height of 1" off the table. Each of the 11 is a different color, including a brilliant aqua and two shades of green and a deep red. The mark on the back reflects the dominant color of the plate. Drawn on each plate are four birds perched on stems, wings high and beaks open. There are four major flowers which look like tulip lilies. Leaves and stems fill the rest of the pattern encircled by a scalloped gold band, a floral band, and then the gold scalloped edge. There are no chips or cracks or crazing ... some of the tips of the scallops have less gold than others, but's it's hard to tell if that is from use or how it was painted. They don't look worn.
    Condition is Used. The plates almost 4 lbs, so with shipping it will be close to 6. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
